This year we stayed home for Christmas. It was the first time we stayed home for Christmas since having Jack and it was very nice! Last year when we flew home to California we flew late at night and had to deal with alot of flight delays so it was nice to not have to worry about any of that! This was the first year Jack was really excited and talked about santa and enjoyed opening presents. I have noticed that since having another kid we really feel like a little family. I mean of course we have always been a family! When it was just Mike and I sometimes it seemed like it was just these 2 adults but as we have added children it feels more and more like our own little family unit. On Christmas eve Jack did some grocery shopping and ran some last minute errands since Mike was home and able to stay with Hudson. Then we came home and baked cookies and watched Christmas movies and ate dinner.
Mike goes back to work tomorrow after having all this time off from work and I am not looking forward to having to get up at 6. Plus it is tough since we are still not taking Hudson out in public so my days seem extra long because we don't go any where! When Mike is home it is nice because I can go places and we take turns doing stuff with Jack.
For Christmas we (mike and I) bought a new camera. Our old one was almost 5 years old and on its last leg. It's just a basic point and shoot but I hope to get a nicer dslr in the spring? I am keeping my fingers crossed. I just have to talk Mike into it. For some reason he will justify buying a new flat screen tv. but not a camera to document our childrens life's. HAHA that is my argument. Of course the camera is no where near the $$ as our tv was!

Oh and at Hudson't 1 month check up he weighed exactly 12 lbs. That is the 93rd percentile and is already growing out of some of his 0-3 clothing.

Too Much

It has been forever since I have posted and there is just too much to say. Hudson was born on Nov. 25 and weighed 9lb. 6 oz. and was 21 inches long. He is a very good baby and sleeps really well. I think I just need to start fresh and will try to post more often.
Most of my day is spent trying to "protect" Hudson from Jack lol. The other night I caught Jack plugging Hudson's nose as Hudson was frantically waving his hands and feet around.
Currently Hudson's best friend is the Christmas tree. He will lay and stare at it for hours. Mike and Jack set the tree up when I was in the hospital so it has been here since we brought Hudson home and we tease that Hudson will be so sad when we put the tree up.
On Sunday we decorated a gingerbread house and so far it is Jack's biggest temptation. You would think that thing was made of crack. He just constantly wants to nibble on it. Whenever he uses the potty he gets to eat some candy off of it.
I took Hudson to the dr. when he was 3 weeks and he was already 10 lbs 6 oz.!
we are currently shopping for a new camera so I will be posting more/better pictures.

Pumpkin Patch 2009

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; I try to sternly, without yellling, tell him no and to stop etc. but it doesn't work and he just thinks it's hilarious because I can't take it from him without getting sprayed so I am kinda standing back. He would spray it and laugh, then stop and I would go and try and grab it then he would start spraying it again. This seriously went on for a couple of minutes. I didn't know what to do because I was trying so hard to not laugh but I didn't want to get sprayed. I am sure people walked by and was like "gosh that mother is just letting her kid spray that stuff". He finally stopped long enough for me to grab it and it only occured to me after I got home that maybe I should have bought it because I am sure it really didn't have much left in it.
Then when we got out to the car I opened the trunk and Jack climbed from inside the cart into the trunk. I knew he had done this and I was fine with it so I said "OK Jack stay there" and ran across the street to put the cart up and as I did this these 2 women walked by and stared at Jack just sitting in the trunk playing with my snow scraper. I felt like saying "I really don't drive around with him like that". I probably just looked like the worst parent today?!

Random Post, Update

-Only 7 more weeks! I think it's cute but I hope he is not super in the baby's face and stuff like that.
-Jack likes these frozen bluberry's I bought at Costco in his cereal so every morning he asks for "baby blue balls".

8 more weeks

I "technically" have 9 more weeks but at my last dr. appointment on friday my dr. still wants me to have the baby at 39 weeks and not 40 and was like "oh you will be home by Thanksgiving" which sounds good to me! I have been telling Mike for the past couple of weeks that if I could have this baby tomorrow I would! It's just so much harder with Jack wanting to sit on my lap, wanting to jump on me etc. My back and hips just kill!! This morning we went to Costco and as I was putting Jack into his car seat I just put him down and let him climb in. While at Costco I bought some diapers for Hudson. (I had a coupon) so I was like might as well buy them now? I never bought diapers in advance with Jack and had to make an emergency diaper run so hopefully I won't have to do that. It's nice the second time around because I have a better feeling for what I will need and what can wait. We have been looking at double strollers lately but I think we may hold off for a little bit and see exactly what our needs are. I don't want to make a big purchase like that and get the wrong thing.
A family in our ward gave us a baby swing that they no longer use so that was nice because that was one of the things I really wanted to get and can now cross of my list and saved us like $50. I never had a swing or anything like that with Jack because we just didnt have the room for it and if I need to put Jack down I just laid him on the floor or couch but I know I can't do that this time around because I will have jack running around and I would rather him not step on the baby!

Heads Up

So this afternoon I made an unscheduled visit to my OB. Yesterday I noticed that Hudson hadn't really been moving as much and as strong as he normally does. So after lunch I was sitting with Jack trying to get him to take a nap while poking my stomach trying to get Hudson to kick back. It wasn't working and it was starting to freak me out! I normally am not the type of person to call the Dr. with silly little questions but I knew it was Friday and they are closed for the weekend. So I called and the nurse was like wait a couple more hours and if he still isn't moving alot then go into labor and delivery. I was just like can't I come down to the office then I remembered it was Friday and they close at noon on Fridays. Then after talking some more she was like well can you be here soon and I was like yeah I live down the street so they hooked me up and did a non stress test which measures all of the baby's movements and heart rate and everything was fine. My Dr. then did an ultrasound to check all of the fluids and everything looks good! I had her double check that it is a boy and she said yes it's a boy and he is still breech. He was breech at 20 weeks. So the plan is they will do another ultrasound at like 35 weeks to see if he flips and if he hasn't they will go ahead and schedule a c section just to get me in the hospitals schedule but do another ultrasound before going ahead with the c section. She said because I have had a c section it's too dangerous to try and have her turn him. So right now he is head up and it's funny because I can actually feel his head. I never knew if it was a head or a bum.

Scaredy Cat

A couple of weeks ago Mike introduced Jack to Scooby Doo. Jack loved it and would watch episodes here and there. They were more recently made. Almost all of them would include some sort of "bad guy". Pirates, surfing zombies etc. Well around that same time Jack started waking up in the middle of the night screaming for Mike and just kinda freaking out. A couple of times Mike tried to get him to go back to sleep but I guess he would just cling onto Mike and he was just trembling Mike said. This was very unusual because Jack has always been a great sleeper and started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks! Well we kinda put 2 and 2 together and have come to the conclusion that maybe Jack should not be watching scary stuff any more. So far it has seemed to make a difference! Hopefully he will get back to sleeping better. I really don't want to have to deal with getting up with a newborn and Jack! Although really Mike has been dealing with Jack and sleeping on Jack's floor. I am sure that if I wasn't 6 months pregnant Mike would make me take a turn of sleeping on the floor lol

Swiffer Sweeper

Jack loves to help me when I vacuum and dust. While he has never had peanut M&M's he wanted one right away but Mike explained to him that he would only get one when he goes pee in the potty. Well by the time we got home, after stopping at Olive Garden for dinner, Jack had forgotten about the M&M's. So this morning after getting out of the bath and sitting on the couch wrapped up in his towel I asked Jack if he needed to go pee. Then he got super excited because he remembered the M&M's. So he went pee on his little potty then I told him to go put on some underwear thinking that maybe I could get him to wear underwear for a little bit but I found him in his closert trying to reach his diapers. I asked him if he wanted to wear underwear and he said no and then I asked him if he wanted to wear a diaper and he said yes. Then of course he wanted his M&M!

I am really just trying to follow Jack's cues and don't want to force him to wear underwear or drag him to the toilet crying. I would rather change diapers then scrub pee out of my carpet all day. Last thursday he wore underwear for a good 4 hrs. without any accident. He even sat through dinner just fine. I would really like to have Jack potty trained by the time I have the baby but that is less than four months away!! I would like to do this not so much because I hate changing diapers because I don't but it's more because diapers are expensive and 2 in diapers in twice the $$.

I seriously, seriously wish there was somebody I could just pay to do this. lol And you would think that with the promise of an M&M everytime he goes pee would be a good incentive but apparently Jack doesn't care that much?

Update

Nothing big in particular has been happening. Just a bunch of fun little things! My pregnancy is going good and I seem to be getting bigger and bigger. Although it really is just all baby. (Still have not gained any weight) Sorry I just had to add that in lol. This baby seems to move around alot more than Jack did at this stage in the pregnancy. Mike has even felt him move which is always exciting.

For some reason we have "issue's" thinking of boy names so if we have anymore boys we will have real problems naming them. As of now the baby's name is Hudson and it probably won't change. Hudson Thomas. I think Jack may be understanding some more of the fact that we are having a baby and currently likes to talk about how when the baby is born they can take a bath together lol.

My sister and her family came to visit a couple of weekends ago and she has a 3 month old but she is the size of a newborn and only weighs 8 lbs. because she was 2 months premature. Jack was OK with her but at one point pulled on both of her legs at the same time. I can't remember why he did this but it didn't seem to bother her. He probably wanted to move her? Jack didn't act jelous at all while I held her but it may have been that he had my neice and nephew to play with so he really didnt want/need my attention. He liked to help with her and would get me wipes when I changed her. I told Mike it was a dry run for when we have the baby. I think the main thing I am going to have to remember is that Jack can't be trusted with the baby and will really have to be watched with him but I kind of knew that. Only 4 more months!

FOOD

Jack is not the cleanest eater and his biggest issue is that he likes to stand at the coffee table and eat instead of sitting at the table. I guess it is my part for not enforcing it?! I was looking at the pictures on my camera and noticed that most of them were Jack eating. I like to take pictures of him eating because they always make me laugh.

The first one is of him eating a chocolate ice cream bar. You may notice that he is sitting on the couch. I know, what was I thinking?

The second on is of him playing with his trains and note the pile of spaghetti shoved in the tunnel! This afternoon he wanted to eat left over noodles for lunch so I just handed him the bag they were in, expecting him to climb up on the couch and eat them. So as I was eating my own lunch i noticed that he was in his room playing with his trains. I thought nothing of it because they were just plain noodles that I knew would not make a mess. Then I noticed that he had made them into a pile and making the trains drive through them. Then literally 10 mins. later he was eating yogurt at the coffee table when he spilled half of it then just started to lick it up. I just let him. I am constantly wiping the table and knew it was clean! haha

Baby makes 2

Boys that is! Well 3 if you count Mike. This morning we found out that baby #2 is a boy! I kinda had a feeling and wasn't that surprised. I really enjoy having a little boy and seriously don't know what I would do with a little girl. Maybe it's because I am not super girly myself. I have saved all of Jacks old bottles and sippy cups so that is nice that I don't have to make a little girl carry around a blue cup or a green bottle. It will make sharing a room very convenient and we won't have to buy as much stuff for the baby as we would have to if it were a girl.
The ultra sound tech. said that everything looked perfect so that is nice to hear and it's nice to see that everything is where it should be and growing normally!

Things that make you say hhmmmm.............

I often find myself observing "odd" things where it's like "seriously"? I have realized that this usually happens while I am driving by myself and I am just looking around like is anyone else seeing this? Of course Jack doesn't know what is going on and he is usually asleep.

Take today for example, I was at a red light and this guy is walking down the street and he pulls out an inhaler, like you see people who have asthma using. Then he uses it, puts it back in his pocket and pulls out some cigarette's and starts smoking lol. I was just like wow that is ironic! Like this guy is thinking "wow I am having some trouble breathing.......... oh this cigarette should help the situation".

Did you know the state of Missouri has the most smokers out of all of the other states? When we first moved here we were like wow alot of people smoke! You just see them walking around, driving and every where you go then I saw on the news that MO has the most smokers and I was like yeah I could have told you that! About half of the restraunts here ask "smoking or non smoking". It's kind of weird after living in Cali for so long.

Last month we went out to dinner and we were wating for a table and this couple walks in and they told the hostess that they wanted a "smoking table" and the hostess was like oh we are non smoking and so they just turned around and left. Mike and I just looked at each other and It's like these people couldn't even eat a meal without smoking! Then I was just thinking that they could have ordered then went outside and smoked or something like that but apparently not.

OK that is enough of my rant

LONG OVERDUE!!

So it has been like 2 months since I last posted. There have been many times where I have thought "I need to get on my blog" but haven't. There have also been some exciting things happening. On March 20th I found out that I am pregnant (I think most people know that by now) I am 14 weeks and over any sort of morning sickness/yuckyness that I had before. This pregnancy has been easier than with Jack as far as morning sickness. I also found out today that I have gestational diabetes like I did with Jack which is always good times (sarcasm). My due date is Nov. 25th and we find out the sex in July which I am excited about!

We (Jack and I) have been staying pretty busy during the days while Mike is at work. We go to a little play/mom group twice a month and have made friends with a couple in our building that has a little boy the same age as Jack so we usually get together and do something once a week. Jack still has an obsession with pretty much all animals and is talking more and more. He says about half of the colors blue, black, green, yellow and pink. He will say things like "Blue car" when we are driving down the street and random things like that when he see's them.

On Friday night we had our first "child saying something embarrasing" moment. We were eating dinner in a restaurant and I said to Mike "I have to go to the bathroom really quick" and Jack starts to stand up because he wants to come with me and Mike tells Jack to sit down and by this time Jack is standing up in the booth and says "No, mama pee pee". I guess because he wanted to come to the bathroom with me? Mike and I just started laughing.

Jack's Birthday

OK first of all I realize that his birthday was last week (March 12) but I was busy and it took me a while to put pics. on my computer. Mike's mom came to visit for a week and the actual day of his birthday it was really cold so we went to this place called The Magic House in St. Louis. It was alot of fun and Jack always enjoys it. Time went buy really fast and before I realized it it was almost 4pm. and I had to get home and make dinner so I had to pick him up kicking and crying. Side note: Terrible two's are in full effect! We came home and ate dinner, opened presents and then had cake and ice cream. It was pretty low key but compared to last year when we did absolutely nothing because we were in the middle of moving out here it was fun. Really I guess it was just Mike. I don't like ice skating because it KILLS my ankles. I just stood on the sides and took pictures. Mike has been wanting to take Jack skating for a long time but I was able to convince him that it would be kind of rediculous to take a kid skating that can barely walk! Jack really seemed to like it and was pulling Mike all over the place. Jack never really made a skating motion it was more like he was walking. Both Mike and Jack really enjoyed it and I am sure we will be going back!

Oh, and Jack tunrs 2 on March 12. Not alot has happened just all of the usual. I have not uploaded any pics off of my camera so I will put some up next time. Here is a list of whats happened in the last month.

-Went to Cali for 10 days for Christmas. 5 days in Chico. 5 days in Roseville. My sister and her kids were also there from Iowa so it was alot of fun to have them all together and Jack really misses them.

-Maggie found out that she is having another girl. Due May. This is baby #3 for her. 1 boy and 2 girls.

-Oh and before we left for Cali Jack projectile vomited for 4 straight days! It was HORRIBLE. From Monday-Friday nothing but puke and diahreah. The best part about a sick almost 2 year old is that they just randomly puke with absolutely no warning and complete disregaurd for where they are puking.

-Mike is out of town right now. He left Monday and gets back tonight. he's been in Kentucky for work. Both Jack and I really miss him but Jack is just heart broken when Mike is gone. He constantly asks for him and will walk through the apartment calling for him and gets really sad when he can't find him. I have probably said "Dad is at work" thousand times the past couple of days.

-Tomorrow is Mike's 30th birthday. I bought him the game Rock Band 2. He's wanted it for a long time.

-Last night while cutting an onion for dinner I cut my finger and was getting concerned that I couldn't get the bleeding to stop. Why do things like this happen while Mike is gone. I realized that this was the first time I had really cut myself while cooking. It means 1 of 2 things. Either I am good a cutting food of I don't cook that often................ It didn't hurt at all last night but is kinda sore this morning.

7 Years ago today

I can't believe that we have been married for seven years. It sounds like such a long time!
I am so proud that we have accomplished so much these past years. When we got married Mike had like 1 semester of school finished. He now has 2 degrees and we have a child. In March I was able to stop working and stay home with Jack full time. I am so proud of Mike for working so hard in school and doing what he loves. I am so grateful for Mike's job and the oppurtunity's it has provided us. We really like St. Louis and it has been an adventure moving to another part of the country. Mike turns 30 next month and I just feel like we are so much older than the 19 and 22 year old in this picture. lol

Thanksgiving/First snow

This is going to be 2 posts in 1.

For Thanksgiving we went upto Des Moines, IA to visit with my sister and her family. We had a great time and ate alot of good food. I ended up getting the stomach flu which is always good times. Especially while sitting in a car for 7 hrs. It seems I am always sick every Thanksgiving. Sunday morning we woke upto a couple of inches of snow. It was so nice to stay inside with a nice fire and just look at the snow without having to go outside and deal with it. I stayed in bed for most of the day and just read. I was still not feeling 100%.

Painting with water makes everything better

So I took Jack to the doctor today and he has an ear infection. This is the first one he has ever had and is on antibiotics. He is still in a good mood and is playing so it doesn't seem to be bothering him too much. While waiting in Target for the prescription to be filled I picked up a new coloring book and one of those painting books where you just use water. I figured I might as well get some stuff to entertain him while he is inside because I don't really want to take him out too mush since it has been so cold and that can't help an ear infection.

Some recent pictures

It has been a really long time since I have posted to I figured I would just put up some recent pictures. We stayed with my moms cousin and his wife. They live on 12 acres of land in southern Ohio where it takes 30 mins. to go to the nearest Wal Mart! They have tractors so Larry took each child on a tractor ride around the lake and Jack was not having it! He liked to stand and watch everyone else go by. He would not go outside until I put his shoes on and when we would get outside he would just want to run around on the porch instead of running free on a bunch of land like I thought he would. Oh and Jack saw more animals up close than anywhere else. These cows were pretty much in a front yard.

I also realized how much more I like the city as well. I did not appreciate driving on little 2 lane country roads with no street lights.

My little gymnast

Jack started taking classes at The Little Gym. My sister and her family moved up here the begining of July. We had not seen each other in over a year. The last time she saw Jack he was 3 months old. The whole trip one way took 7 hours. I was very nervous because I have never driven that far by myself led alone with Jack! I compare taking a road trip with a 17 month old to traveling with a dog. They both need to get out to stretch their legs and walk around. Every time we stopped Jack would go over to the grassy area where people were letting their dogs use the bathroom because he wanted to pet them?! It would be like 4 dogs and Jack. We had a nice visit and it was fun to have the kids together. On the way home Jack had an "accident" that resulted in me having to strip him down in the Mc Donalds parking lot and basically give him a sponge bath with a bunch of baby whipes and he rode the rest of the way home in just a diaper so you can imagine what had happened.

Last night Mike let Jack "play" Wii. It was pretty cute so here are some pics. Oh and I realize that Jack looks naked in the right pic. but he is wearing a diaper!

Bringing It Back Old School

On Thursday I went to the grocery store and was pleasently surprised. I noticed that they have brought back Trix cereal in the shape of balls instead of it being shaped like the fruit it tastes like. Now anyone who was raised in the 80's know's that Trix was originally in the ball shape. I remember one weekend when I was pregnant going through a whole box of Trix in less than 2 days. I normally don't ever buy trix but It was on sale and there was a cool Batman toy inside that I knew Jack would enjoy! I took a picture of it to refresh everyone's memories and included a picture of Jack freaking out because I would not give him any.

New T.V.

I think that next to the birth of his first child, last night was the happiest day of Mike's life! Some of you (the Peeler's) may know that Mike has been bugging me for years about buying a new t.v. Not that there was anything wrong with our old one that we bought brand new 5 years ago but it wasn't "big enough" and "HD" and "a flat screen". And all of these things that only guys really care about. So last week I finally gave in so Mike would just stop bugging me about it. It was delivered last night and I could tell Mike wanted to jump up and down like a little boy on Christmas day but was containing himself lol. I do have to admit that the picture does look alot nicer. Right now he is playing a racing game on xbox 360 and he is commenting about how "it looks like you are really driving" too funny. I am just happy that he is happy and will no longer be bugging me about it!

Sleepy Jack

A couple of weeks ago Jack went through a phase that lasted for around 2 weeks where Jack would fall asleep on my chest. This wasn't too bad because I could sit there and watch t.v. , read or even take a little nap myself. The bad thing about this was he is no longer a newborn and now weighs 24 lbs. and sometimes it would start to hurt! NOW he takes his naps on the couch. Which is perfect because now I am free to move around and it doesn't make me hot with another human body on me. On Monday and yesterday he slept for 2.5 hours! The last time he slept like this he was a new born. He sleeps great through the night but not so during nap time till he discovered the couch. I was telling Mike how Jack now takes his naps on the couch and Mike was like well is that ok, should we try and put him in his bed? I was like what?!?!? He can sleep on the bathroom floor for all I care! As long as he is sleeping for that long he can nap wherever he wants. Here are some pics. for your viewing pleasure. A couple on the couch and some just random cute ones.

Jack in the Arch

Mike's mom is here visiting so we figured it would be the perfect time to do all of the tourist things in St. Louis. First we went up in the arch then went on a boat ride that goes along the Mississippi river. It was alot of fun and really nice weather. Mike and his mom had already been up in the arch when Mike was around 16. If you do not like small spaces DO NOT go in the arch. First of all you ride up in the tiny capsule sort of things that you have to sit down in. It's about a 4 min. ride. Then once you get up top it's pretty crowded. You can also feel it sway in the wind which is kind of un nerving.

Summer Hair

I don't consider myself to be a cheap person but there is something inside of me that cannot bring myself to pay $20 to have someone cut my one year olds hair. So I took matters into my own hands. (and Mike's too) I had tried "trimming" it but that just made it look even worse. I hate dragging a ragga muffin child around town so Monday night when Mike got home I announced that we were going to buzz Jack's hair. It seemed simple enough so we lured Jack into his bathroom took off his clothes (I think he thought he was going to take a bath and that was what made him pissed because he loves baths) On a side note............why does Jack poop everytime we give him a bath the past 2 weeks? I have decided that there will be no more toys or playing and we will wash him then pull him out because he is getting too comftorable in there! OK. Back to the story............ So Mike holds Jack and I turn on the clippers and Jack FREAKS!! Now Jack has had his hair cut by a professional before and the trimmers were his least favorite part so you can imagine what it's like when we do the whole head?!?! So we basically take turns holding/shaving Jack. By the time everything was said and done we were ALL covered in hair! I think the end result was good and it was worth the struggle. They took the cover off of our pool here at our apartment complex and I bought Jack some swimming trunks or whatever they are called so we are ready to go! Now we just have to wait for it to warm up a bit. The problem with Missouri is it will rain one day then be like 85 the next. Then the next day there will be tornado warnings so it is pretty much anyones guess. I just pray that there will be no tornado while we are in our current residency because we are on the 3rd floor and you are supposed to go under ground so we would pretty much be screwed here! So cross your fingers. Oh and funny story. Saturday morning around 9:30 am my mom called to make sure we were still alive. Apparently she saw on the news that there was a tornado in the state of Missouri. Never mind that it was on the other side of the state. It reminded me of the days when we lived in Orange County and she would call to make sure we were not victims of drive by shootings she would see reported in L.A. Needless to say she doesn't leave Butte County very often.

Grants Farm

This morning we went to a place called Grants Farm. So first of all I know it has been FOREVER since I have updated this thing. We just now got internet after a month of living here! I am sure most of you know but we moved to the lovely state of Missouri about a month ago. We are about a half hour from St. Louis. Mike works for Toyota and really enjoys it so far! I am staying home with Jack which is a job change also. I enjoy spending more time with Jack. I was starting to feel guilty about leaving him everyday. We really like the area and everyone seems very friendly! As much as we enjoyed Orange County we really felt like we needed a change after having a child. I really like the fresh air and the green scenery. I will post some more pictures soon.

Santa's Lap

So yesterday we took Jack to have his picture taken with santa. I was confident that it would go well because Jack will let anyone pick him up or hold him. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing by the way? It went great but was hard to get a good picture as Jack would not stop looking up at him. It's hard to believe that Christmas is only 2 weeks away. Here are a few pictures from the past month. Jack is getting so big and discovering new things on a daily basis. He now has 7 teeth. I have been tagged to post 7 random things about myself so I may have to think about this. I am taking a computer class tomorrow so I am sure I will have plenty of time to brain storm some interesting things to post. OK. I am very sleepy and must go to bed now.

Such a big boy.

So on Monday Jack had a doctors appointment for some immunizations and a general check up. He weighs 19 pounds and I forget how many inches he is. He is in the 75th percentile for weight and the 95th for length. The doctor commented on what a "long slender baby" he is. He has deffinetly lost all baby fat. Not that there was ever alot to begin with. He is really looking more and more like a "little boy". His newest tricks are clapping and he can go from a laying down position to sitting up all by himself. This morning I noticed him clawing/grabbing at the couch I think in an attempt to pull himself up. It's funny to see his little personality start to come out. The other day he was playing with my keys and began to suck on them and I took them away from him and he started screaming which has never happened before when I have taken something away. He just talks and talks which always makes Mike and I laugh outloud becuase his little voice is so cute! He is probably going to start to crawl soon because he has started getting all of the way up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth. He usually does that until one of his arms gives out and he falls on his face.
The other week we bought him a halloween costume. It is a puppy costume which is basically just a sleeper outfit with a tail and a hood with ears. He looks very cute in it and we will probably dress him up in it for our church halloween party. Once again I need to learn how to post pictures on here!

I Heart Cincinnati

First of all I really need to learn how to post pictures to go along with my posts. Instead you can visit this link and view our online web album. http://picasaweb.google.com/maryjovasquez

OK. Back to my blog.

So over all our trip was enjoyable. On the way there we had a two hour layover in the Cincinnati airport and that by far is the nicest airport I have ever been in!! Really nice places to eat and really neat stores. There is even an Outback Steakhouse there. While in NYC we did all of the typical tourist things such as the statue of liberty and Ellis island. We went to ground zero and walked around the financial district. We also went on a tour of the Radio City Music Hall. We spent two days is Connecticut visiting Mike's family.

I have decided that once you go to NYC there is really no need to go back again. This was my second time and it wasn't as fun/exciting as the first. The first time everything is new.

In other news Jack is going to be a puppy for Halloween. So I will post pics.

Out of town visitor

I love how you can be 25, married and have a child but your mother still treats you like you are in elementary school. My mom is in town this week visiting and watching Jack while I am at work. Mike is in Vegas this week for work. I love having my mom visit becuase dinner is ready when I get home from work, she does my laundry and cleans my whole apartment!! This morning she even insisted on packing a lunch for me. I believe I may be the only one who has a brown bag lunch here in my office today.

On the 4th we are leaving for NYC/Connecticut for a week to visit Mike's family and do some sight seeing. I am really excited but hessitant to travel that far with a baby. I am not looking forward to the 6 hour plane ride and a 3 hour time difference throwing off his schedule!! Not to mention that his top teeth are coming in so that always makes for a good time! My mom discovered that it looks like the front four our coming in. Not just the front two but also the ones next to those. I also need to go buy the boy some actual winter clothes that I know he will probably not wear once we get back to southern California.

Feeling HOT HOT HOT

So anyone that that watches the news or lives in Southern California knows that it has been rediculously hot! It wouldn't be that bad but when you are used to alot cooler weather and do not have central air, as most apartments don't its not very fun! Our only solution to this problem was to not stay at home. Friday night when Mike got home from work we went to the mall and just walked around enjoying the free A.C. Saturday we went to Target, Baby's R Us and out to pizza. At Baby's R Us we bought Jack this great high chair that that hooks onto our dinning room table and Jack really likes it becuase he is part of the action and can see me in the kitchen and feels like he is part of the family during meals. The only down side is that he has discovered banging his sippy cup on our (somewhat) new table. I need to find a placemat to absorb some of the abuse from the table. Sunday night we went swimming and Jack enjoyed it alot more than his previous dip in the pool a couple of months ago. He even went under water a couple of times and he didn't even cry. Monday Mike and I both had the day off so we drove to L.A. to visit our friends the Peelers. They live in alot cooler weather and have A.C.!!!! We went to lunch at El Torito Grill then stopped at Baby's R Us on the way back to their house. We watched the movie 300 which seemed to not really have a story just a bunch of fighting.

Last Sunday Mike's mom came to visit and watched Jack during the day while Mike and I were at work. Jack really seemed to enjoy staying at home with her and she bought him lots of great clothes and toys. I have taken lots of pictures but just need to figure out how to post them.

Begining of a blog

I always enjoy reading other peoples blogs and this is something Mike has always made fun of me for. He has always said I should start a blog but I have always felt like our life is not that interesting.

Mike and I were married in Dec. '01 and had a baby in March '07. We currently live in Orange County California. Mike graduated in December from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in International Business and a degree in Japanese. He works at a company where they make fish food. I work at a property management company in Anaheim. In our spare time we like to hang out with Jack.

We will update this blog from time to time with pictures and any exciting things that happen to us!
